College Students In Need (SWS)
The Simuel Whitfield Simmons Organization (SWS) is based in neighboring Franklin Township and led by Natasha Rodgers. The organization supports families in need in the greater Somerset and New Brunswick area in various ways. http://www.swsorganization.org/about-us/mission-statement.html. The mission of the Simuel Whitfield Simmons Organization is to help meet the immediate and long term needs of at-risk youth and families in New Jersey.
They strive to break the cycle of poverty by offering our families and youth the resources, mentorship and education they need to achieve self-sufficiency. Our club supports an average of 10 of those students annually who are heading off to college. Each student supported by this project gets bedding, pillows, towels, a shower caddy, laundry bag, and extension surge cord, shampoo, hand soap, laundry detergent, USB memory sticks, and more, using both funds from the Club's giving budget and donations from Club members.
